Bull Head Barbecue Sauce is, in fact, the Chinese popular ‘sha cha sauce’, which is originally inspired by the Malaysian satay sauce.
Its umami-rich flavor prevails over any other barbecue sauces which are prepared by cooking spiral shells.
The history of Bull Head barbecue sauce is reportedly the spice applied by old Malaysians on pork and beef roasted on skewers, which was named by Chinese as “Sacha” or Chinese Satay. It was later introduced to Chao-chou from Malaysia. The chefs of Chao-chou preparation and improvement, helped barbecue sauce become popular everywhere and widely applied to Chinese cuisine.
